5.0 Exceptional Stress-free Douro Wine Tour This tour was definitely a highlight of our trip to Porto. Communication with Márcio was great; we knew exactly what to expect beforehand. He picked us up from our hotel, and on the drive to the Douro valley, after treating us to cappuccinos, Márcio shared his extensive knowledge of Portuguese wine, food, and culture. Here’s where it pays to book a private tour— the drive up to the first winery we visited was up a windy, steep drive that could not be made by a larger sized tour group. The view and staff of this small winery were spectacular, and the wine was even better. We were kicking ourselves afterward for only purchasing one bottle. My husband and I had our own private tasting table in front of the window, apart from a tour group, and we were given higher-end and additional wines to taste. We were very well tended to at the second winery we visited as well. We made several other stops in various nearby towns that added to the the local experience. Márcio genuinely ensured we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves the whole day. This tour was authentic, did not feel the least bit touristy, and would not have been the same without Márcio. As a side note, I am a vegetarian, and Márcio ensured that I had ample food options at each stop. - 6/09/2024

5.0 Dia incrível fora do Porto Dá para perceber que Marcio adora vinho e está fazendo o possível para proporcionar uma ótima experiência aos seus convidados. Visitamos uma vila pitoresca e 2 vinícolas muito especiais com vários lugares lindos pelo caminho. E o almoço no meio foi além de todos os elogios! 5.0 Maravilhosa experiência primaveril no vale do rio Douro No geral, essa experiência foi maravilhosa e parecia intimamente personalizada. Cada local que visitamos tinha uma atividade diferente, não era apenas degustação de vinhos. Além disso, aprendemos como a produção de vinho na região varia muito, desde proporções industriais até tradições caseiras. Fomos brindados com uma refeição extraordinária ao almoço, destacando a comida tradicional portuguesa e as técnicas culinárias. Por último, mas não menos importante, o guia turístico é uma aula magistral em hospitalidade e foi um prazer conhecê-lo. Ele foi flexível aos nossos desejos durante todo o passeio e era extremamente conhecedor da história do vale e da produção de vinho. - 3/19/2024
